 報告題目：Photogrammetric computer vision and the role of machine learning

 報告摘要：

Photogrammetry is a technique for image capture and analysis, as well as 3D reconstruction from images, which has its roots in the 19th century. Recently, also the term computer vision has been extensively used to describe essentially the same methods, techniques and algorithms; thus, the term photogrammetric computer vision was born.

This talk focusses on geospatial applications of photogrammetric computer vision, dealing with aerial images, digital surface and terrain models, digital orthophotos, digital landscape models, and 3D city models. Today, the input and the data flow are completely digital and to a large extent automatic, the latter in part thanks to the recent developments in machine learning and deep learning.

After a short introduction of photogrammetry and computer vision, an overview of current sensor systems for geospatial data acquisition as well as automatic data processing procedures, both for geometric and for sematic results, is given. A focus is laid on methods borrowed from machine learning.

 報告人簡介：

Christian Heipke is a professor at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, where he currently leads a group of about 25 researchers. His professional interests comprise all aspects of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image understanding and their connection to computer vision and GIS. His has more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals to his name and supervised more than 40 PhD candidates as main supervisor.

For 5 years, he served as vice president of EuroSDR. From 2011-2014 he was chair of the German Geodetic Commission (DGK), from 2012-2016 ISPRS Secretary General, and from 2016-2022 ISPRS President. Currently he serves as ISPRS Past President.

He is an ordinary member of various learnt societies incl. DGK, acatech and IAA. He is the recipient of the 1992 Otto von Gruber Award, the 2012 Fred Doyle Award, both from the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), and the 2013 Photogrammetric (Fairchild) Award from ASPRS.
